Who can attack your license or certification?
Anyone has the right to report a complaint to the Department of Regulation, the body that has the power to revoke or censure your license/certification and ability to practice your chosen profession. (more)

When you receive a summons and complaint or subpoena it is natural to feel uncomfortable and concerned. You have entered an arena where you have little or no experience, and your professional conduct and reputation may be being called into question. (more)

Attorney Representation
In the event that you are sued or you receive a subpoena that requires you to appear in court at a trial or at a deposition, it is imperative that you be represented by an attorney. (more)

 

What is the discovery process?
After you receive a summons and complaint and an attorney has been assigned to you, the attorneys from each side begin what is called the “discovery process.” (more)

What should I expect when giving a deposition?
Giving a deposition can be an extremely intimidating event. The claimant’s attorney will sit on the other side of the table, you will be asked questions under oath and a court reporter will be present taking down your every word. (more)

What should I expect in trial preparation and testimony?
By the time you arrive at trial, you will have already gone through the entire discovery process and have given your deposition. This experience will not have prepared you, however, for what awaits you at trial. (more)
